Your Medical Insurance May Cover A Portion of The Cost Of Your Dream Hair Blending Enhancement:

When your hair loss is due to medical reasons such as chemotherapy, alopecia, Trichotillomania, or other medical conditions, request a prescription from your physician. It is essential that the prescription is written for a "full cranial prosthesis", making the purchase eligible for reimbursement under most medical insurance policies  Most requests for a wigs or hair replacement units are denied, therefore you must request "full cranial prosthesis".

Many of our clients are considered “Medical” clients, which those who have a medical condition that either causes hair loss or the treatment for separate illness results in hair loss. You may not know that you have a medical condition that is causing your hair loss or thinning, such as Alopecia, hormonal imbalance, thyroid problem, stress, etc.  It's a good idea to consult with your doctor, and ask for a prescription for a "Full Cranial Prosthesis".  That is the medical term for a non-surgical hair replacement system or wig.  You can then submit your Dream Hair Blending Enhancement receipt and the prescription to your insurance company and request reimbursement.  Dream Hair Blending does NOT accept insurance, nor are we an insurance provider.  You must submit your Dream Hair Blending Enhancement invoice along with your full cranial prosthesis prescription to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.

If you require a cranial prosthesis due to permanent hair loss or hair loss during chemotherapy or alopecia treatment, you may be eligible for full upfront coverage to purchase the cranial prosthesis or reimbursement by your health insurance company thereafter. If you determine you are eligible for upfront coverage, email us at dreamhairmail@gmail.com and we will provide a quote for the blending enhancement of your choice. The insurance company may make the check payable to Dream Hair Blending Enhancements, or you can purchase it directly and submit your receipt for reimbursement..Additionally, your hair prosthesis may be a tax deductible medical expense.  Request that your physician write a prescription for a "full cranial prosthesis" (not a wig) and a letter explaining hair loss and the emotional impact of the condition. If the letter states cosmetic reasons, it may be denied.
hh

IMPORTANT:  It is vital that your doctor write the prescription for a "cranial prosthesis", and not another term such as wig or hair replacement.  Insurance companies will not cover prescriptions that are not written for "cranial prosthesis".

Your Blending Enhancement May Be Tax Deductible

If you suffer from medically related hair loss and or thinning, and you do not have insurance, or your insurance policy will only cover a percentage of the cost, or it does not cover the cost at all, then the cost of your blending enhancement may be a tax deductible medical expense.  Please verify with your tax expert.

Common Causes of Female Hair Loss

h
Hair loss in women is very similar to male pattern baldness. It affects millions of women in the US alone and many more throughout the world. There are many myths, but also many true reasons why women experience hair loss.
hh

Androgenetic Alopecia- Also known as "Female Pattern Baldness".  This cause is the most common in women experiencing
hair loss and is a direct effect of genetics.
..
Telogen Effluvium - This occurs when hair goes into a resting or shock phase after any type of insult.  This type of resting hair
shedding may occur as a result of pregnancy up to three to six months after giving birth.  Telogen Effluvium may also be caused
when a woman loses a great deal of weight in a short period of time, possibly through a crash diet.
..
Alopecia Areata- When bald spots suddenly appear here or there, or when little tiny hairs that break off become noticeable.
Areata is Latin for round or circumscribed.  It is often related to some stressful event that it's believed to be some type of
immunological imbalance where the immune system goes after its own hair for some unknown reason and causes them to go into
the resting phase and slow down their growth so they break off or come out.  However, a lot of times it re-grows by itself.
